INITIATIVES

Guided by a Steering Committee, two task forces are focused on these priorities:

Education Task Force

Works as an ally of schools in the development of a comprehensive approach to prevention, intervention, and curriculum development that addresses school bullying, harassment and discrimination that is coordinated across districts.

Community Task Force

Cultivates strong working relationships with governing bodies, civic organization, local businesses, faith based groups and the community at large to promote diversity, inclusion and equality. Utilizes media and special events to raise awareness of the issues.

Parent Focus Groups

Part of our Education Task Force initiative is engaging parents in focus groups to discuss individual experiences with bias/bullying and how this may or may not influence school environments. These focus groups take place every first Wednesday of the month from 6-8pm  at the People Helping People conference room in Solvang.
